After completing of PhD fellowship in cardiovascular surgery from Bakulev Institute, I returned to India in 1991 and joined Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre, New Delhi.

  • Worked as Director of Cardiovascular & Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery at Max Heart & Vascular Institute, Saket, New Delhi from 15.1.2006 to 1.7.2006.
  • Worked as Director- Deptt. of Cardiovascular Surgery, in Fortis  Escorts Heart Institute & Research Centre, New Delhi, India from 3.7.2006 to 14th October’2018.
  • Presently I am working as Chief of Clinical Services, Head of Cardiac Sciences and Chief Cardio Vascular Surgeon at Manipal Hospitals, Sector 6, Dwarka, New Delhi.

Presently I am working as Chief of Clinical Services, Head of Cardiac Sciences and Chief Cardio Vascular Surgeon at Manipal Hospitals, Sector 6, Dwarka, New Delhi.

I have already operated on more than 22000 cardiovascular cases. For the last 30 years, my specialities of interest are minimally invasive cardiac surgery which includes MIDCAB, OPCAB and the Port access approach for mitral valve surgery and ASD closure.

  • I have already operated more than 2500 cases with port access technology.
  • Another area of my interest is redo cardiac surgery and I have already performed more than 1000 redo cardiac cases.
  • I started the robotic cardiac surgery programme at Escorts Heart Institute in December 2002 and since then performed 500 robotic cardiac cases with excellent results.
  • Besides clinical work, I am actively involved in research and already published more than 175 scientific papers and chaired scientific sessions at national and international conferences in the USA, UK, China, Italy, Japan, France and Far East Countries.
  • Conducted Live Operative Teaching Workshops in Bangladesh, Thailand and Nepal.
  • Trained more than 90 cardiac surgeons in the area of Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery at M S Ramaiah Memorial Hospital in Bangalore.
